American Hair Transplant Centers Review

American Hair Transplant CentersAmerican Hair Transplant Centers have been one of the quickest-growing national transplant options. They’ve been around for a couple of decades now, making them one of the longer-lasting companies to do these procedures.

What they do

American hair transplant centers use a single-follicle grafting technique to recreate a natural hairline. The procedure takes about three to seven hours. During that time, you’re awake and will have anesthesia on the areas affected. You won’t have any bandages after the procedure, and you’ll go back to work the next day.

Usually, patients will see results from the procedure in about 10 to 12 weeks.

Where to find American Hair Transplant Centers

While they don’t have the kind of reach that a larger company like Bosley has with its 70 centers nationwide, they do have a strong presence in the South, Midwest, and Northeast.

American Hair Transplant Centers have offices located in a number of cities in the U.S. and Canada, including:

  • Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Amherst, New York
  • Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Nashville, Tennessee
  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Depending on where you live, it may mean some travel time in order to get treatment from American Hair Transplant Centers.

The American Hair Transplant Center Difference

What seems to set this group of physicians and their procedure apart is the volume of hair that is transplanted with each visit. The company notes that they’re able to provide the same quality of hair transplant as their competitors, but that the quantity of hair is significantly greater.

This could mean fewer office visits. In turn, fewer office visits means less time, less travel, and less secondary expenses. That’s a compelling factor if you’re having to travel to another state to get your hair transplant done.

Costs

American Hair Transplant Centers don’t specifically address the cost issue. This is pretty common for hair transplant companies, as treatment can vary greatly from one person to the next based on their needs. This company does describe the cost of hair transplants in this way:

“Since this is a permanent solution, a 35 year old patient interested in one of our largest sessions, would expect to invest just 70 cents a day when figured over the rest of your life.” Assuming the patient lives to the age of 70, the total cost would be just under $9,000. If they’re using a life expectancy of 80, the cost would be around $11,500.

This puts American Hair Transplant Centers in the same ballpark as other major centers. Most of the time, you can expect to pay anywhere from about $6,000 to $12,000, so they may be a bit on the high end.

Are they right for you?

Most patients seem happy with the results they get from American Hair Transplant Centers. Whether they’re right for you will depend on a number of factors, including how close to home they’re located, cost, and your other options. If you can have a hair restoration procedure done closer to home for less money, there may not be compelling reasons to choose American Hair Transplant Centers. If there’s a center nearby, however, it’s definitely worth taking a look.
